1 Thess. 5: 16-18.
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
This is my favorite verse. It’s so simply, yet tells me how my life should be everyday. Why, do I wonder, is it so hard though?
Why is it so hard to be Joyful. Day after day, how can we continue to find joy in everything. We can’t. We will never find joy in anything and anyone. Not the kind of joy that’s written in the Word, the kind He tells us about. We will only find that Joy in reading His word, in spending time with him. Why is that so hard for us? Why is the one thing that should be the most important thing SO hard to do?
Well, that question is as simple as “Why do we sin?”. Which is not an easy question at all. That is why we are suppose to GO to Him. We need to lean on Him, he should be like water to us. He quenches our thirst, he feeds us our bread, he provides us with all that we need.
Now, that being said, I need help with this. I struggle. I don’t go to Him everyday, all the time. I should, at least I know that. However, I still know that He will love me no matter what. No matter how many times I look for happiness and joy in other things or people.
Because I’m sinful. Because I’m just a girl. Because He made me this way. That’s why He loves me so.

Thanks for this verse. I’m having trouble being joyful today. Here, I have a beautiful home, a great husband, and a healthy baby girl. But I’m so bummed out today. I needed an encouraging word.
It seems I’ve lost my positive attitude. My chin up attitude. Thanks for the reminder.
